Sharks nip 'Hawks on late goal
Devin Setoguchi's power-play goal with 4:15 left gave the San Jose Sharks a 6-5 victory over Chicago on Sunday night, the Blackhawks' first home loss in regulation this season.


Setoguchi, who also had an assist, scored on a screened shot from the high slot.

Dan Boyle scored two power-play goals for the Sharks, who went four for six with the man advantage. Milan Michalek, Joe Thornton and Jeremy Roenick also connected to help NHL-leading San Jose win its second straight to improve to 9-1-1 in its last 11. San Jose's Joe Pavelski had three assists.

Chicago defensemen Brian Campbell and Cam Barker each had a goal and two assists. The Blackhawks' Kris Versteeg scored a pair of fluke goals on misplays by San Jose goalie Brian Boucher. Patrick Kane also scored for Chicago, 6-1-4 at home this season and 4-1-2 in its last seven overall.

Boucher stopped 28 shots, and Chicago's Cristobal Huet made 25 saves.

Flyers 4, Thrashers 3 - Joffrey Lupul scored the go-ahead goal in the third period, Antero Niittymaki made 29 saves to remain perfect against Atlanta and host Philadelphia snapped the Thrashers' five-game winning streak.

Simon Gagne had a goal and two assists, Mike Knuble had a goal and an assist, and Kimmo Timonen also scored for the Flyers. Erik Christensen, Bryan Little and Vyacheslav Kozlov scored for Atlanta.

DUCKS 2, KINGS 0 - Jonas Hiller made 29 saves for his first NHL shutout and host Anaheim got goals from Corey Perry and defenseman Bret Hedican to beat Los Angeles.

HURRICANES 3, LIGHTNING 2 (SO) - Rick Tocchet lost his debut as Tampa Bay's coach when Tuomo Ruutu and Rod Brind'Amour scored in the shootout and Cam Ward stopped two shots in the tiebreaker to lead Carolina to a home victory.

TRADE - Darryl Sydor returned to the Dallas Stars on Sunday in a trade of veteran defensemen that sent Philippe Boucher to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 36-year-old Sydor played with Dallas from 1995 to 2003.
